Rangers will be searching for more firepower during this transfer window, and it appears like Emmanuel Dennis might be a January signing.
The 26-year-old forward is keen in moving to Ibrox and would be a welcome addition to Gers manager Philippe Clement’s side.
He may not have had the best of luck since going from Watford to Nottingham Forest, but his time at Vicarage Road will be what Rangers fans hope for if Emmanuel Dennis moves to Glasgow, according to Match of the Day analysis.
Rangers target Emmanuel Dennis has received the MOTD seal of approval.
One of the things that stood out for the Nigeria international during his greatest season in English football and the Premier League was the quantity of goals he scored for a team that would be relegated.
It was also a team that changed management based on the seasons and weather, rather than football.
On Match of the Day, Jermain Beckford heaped admiration on Dennis as the dynamic forward set about trying to keep his club up:
“Brilliant, absolutely fantastic; he has a lot of goals and assists.
“He’s youthful, enthusiastic, and he thrills me.
“Very good in front of the goal.
“With him on the team, they always have a chance.
“For where they are at the moment and the sticky situation they’re in, to have a player like this, with that kind of calibre in front of goal….priceless.”
This happened only two years ago, before joining for Forest in the summer of 2022 for £20 million.
He only appeared in eight Premier League games last year, but he scored two goals and assisted two others.
It was a horrible choice of club, one that significantly over-hired on their return to the top flight and, as a result, had no idea who to play with or what players worked best together.
Emmanuel Dennis could easily return to the form that Beckford is referring to at the appropriate club and in the right formation; if he scored the goals that helped Rangers win the Scottish Premiership, there would be only one word to describe him.
Priceless.
