After a busy week in the transfer market, Leeds United will return to league action when they welcome Hull City at Elland Road.
The Whites have signed three new players this week: Manor Solomon, Ao Tanaka, and Isaac Schmidt, albeit the latter was not ready in time to join the club today.
Largie Ramazani will also be available for the first time since his arrival from UD Almeria, potentially giving Leeds’ squad a considerably stronger look.
Dan James is the lone injury issue from last week’s win over Sheffield Wednesday, having picked up a hamstring strain that will keep him out until after the international break.
Here is our expected XI for the contest.
Goalkeeper
Illan Meslier, who has kept straight clean sheets, starts in goal.
Defence
After a shaky start against Portsmouth and Middlesbrough, Leeds’ back four have been at their best in the previous two games.
Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk were both fearsome against West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday, so despite Max Wober’s comeback, they will start at centre-back.
As previously stated, new signing Schmidt would provide further competition at fullback but was not signed in time to participate. Jayden Bogle and Junior Firpo will continue to be the top choices.
Midfield
Daniel Farke has been looking for a new attack-minded number eight for several weeks, and he has finally found one in Japan international Tanaka.
There is a chance he will be included in the team for the first time today, but he is unlikely to start right away, therefore Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev will start in midfield.
Attack
James’ injury allows Ramazani or Solomon to make their complete debut at Elland Road, however Joel Piroe is also an option.
Ramazani, who has had a full week of training, should be considered with Brenden Aaronson and Wilfried Gnonto, just behind Mateo Joseph.
Predicted lineup: Meslier; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Firpo; Ampadu, Gruev; Ramazani, Aaronson, Gnonto; Joseph
