Daniel Farke may be tempted to make changes to his Leeds United XI against Blackburn Rovers today.
The Whites’ automatic promotion push has stalled in recent weeks, with just five points from their last four games since the international break.
Coventry City handed Leeds their first loss of 2024 last weekend, but Farke chose to field an unchanged side against Sunderland on Tuesday, a decision that ultimately backfired.
Farke has plenty of options on his bench to call upon this afternoon, and commentators such as Aidy White have urged him to make a few changes.
Here is our expected XI for today’s match.
Illan Meslier maintains his position as goalkeeper after keeping another Championship clean sheet in midweek.
Defence
The first change to the starting XI occurs at right-back, when Connor Roberts’ experience is called upon for only his second league start since signing from Burnley.
Roberts has previously played at this level and will join Wales international colleagues Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu in the back four.
Junior Firpo is set to preserve his place at left-back, although Sam Byram hopes to return.
Midfield
With Roberts back to defence, Archie Gray should be able to shift into his best position in midfield. He replaces Glen Kamara, who has had a difficult few weeks.
Gray is joined in the engine room by Ilia Gruev, who will once again shield the back four.
Attack
The second and final change Farke could make to his lineup is to bring Willy Gnonto back for his first start since returning from injury.
He should replace Dan James on the right, who has been disappointing in recent weeks after missing a penalty for Wales. Crysencio Summerville is on the other flank.
Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph could both make strong cases for inclusion, although Farke is unlikely to break away from the Patrick Bamford and Georginio Rutter combo.
