Player’s time at Nottingham Forest has been ‘disastrous’ thus far. Certainly not going as he wanted

The German media is currently focusing on Giovanni Reyna’s loan at Nottingham Forest, and not for the best reasons.

Borussia Dortmund agreed to let the player go on a brief loan in January, and he stayed with the Reds until the end of the season.

However, he has only made four appearances for Nottingham Forest since then, with Fussball Transfers now stating that the decision has been ‘disastrous’ thus far.

Reyna has only played 38 minutes on the field, always coming on at the end of games, and is clearly a long way from earning a starting spot in the team.

According to Fussball Transfers, he’s a ‘gifted’ teenager who was eager for more minutes at Dortmund but is now struggling to acquire them at Nottingham Forest.

He was meant to return to Germany with a ‘new self-confidence’, but given how things have gone for him in England, that seems improbable.

It’s now up to him and Nuno Espírito Santo to find a solution in the closing months of the season at Nottingham Forest to convert this into a positive for all parties involved.
