Philippe Clement doesn’t have any injury concerns as Rangers prepare to face Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership.

The Rangers boss will face the Arabs without several important first-team players due to an increasing injury list, which has been exacerbated by the Europa League match in Manchester.

John Souttar, Leon Balogun, Dujon Sterling, Connor Barron, Oscar Cortes, Vaclav Cerny, and Danilo are all absent from the matchday squad in the City of Discovery.

However, Philippe Clement believes that Ridvan Yilmaz’s absence from the Rangers squad ahead of the game against Dundee United is due to injury rather than transfer speculation.

    Ridvan Yilmaz’s recent transfer

Ridvan Yilmaz fueled suspicions of an impending Rangers departure after posting an Instagram photo in Istanbul.

The 23-year-old Turkish international left-back drew attention from Rangers fans as it appeared he was in a coffee shop in the west of the historic city.

Combine this with suggestions that Besiktas could sign Yilmaz on a £5 million loan-to-buy deal, and Rangers fans were left wondering if the defender would be departing Ibrox.

Yilmaz’s absence from the starting XI against Dundee United heightened suspicions.

Philippe Clement discusses Ridvan Yilmaz’s injuries

Philippe Clement has dismissed suggestions that Ridvan Yilmaz is ready to depart Rangers, claiming the player’s absence against Dundee United was due to injury.

Yilmaz, who joined Rangers from Besiktas for £5 million in 2022, has had his entire Ibrox career cut short owing to ongoing injury issues.

“Yeah, Ridvan has a small injury,” Clement told RangersTV. “It is not long-term.

“He was not fit enough to participate in this game.

“I heard all of the rumours around him that he is going to leave, but I can say to all of the fans that it’s totally not true.”

The Rangers boss also attempted to deny that Yilmaz had left the country, stating that the player was having treatment in Auchenhowie.

“It’s a minor injury,” Clement stated. “And he’s spent the last few days in the building receiving therapy.
