According to Phil Hay, the 49ers Enterprises are still making “major” changes at Leeds United, the most recent of which is the appointment of Martin Diggle as the new academy manager.
According to an Athletic journalist, Leeds have experienced structural changes internally since the arrival of the new owners in the summer, which are still in progress.
Diggle’s arrival follows multiple academy staff changes, including Scott Gardner (under-21s manager), Stewart Downing (under-21s deputy manager), and Jordan Miles (head of recruitment).
49ers Enterprises make their impact on Leeds United.
When the 49ers took over from Radrizzani in the summer, it was evident to most that significant changes needed to be made at Elland Road to put the club back on track for short- and long-term success.
Despite the fact that the San Francisco 49ers lost the Super Bowl and hence the benefits of that win, the owners are more than capable of constructing the structures required for success.
The structural and staffing changes at the academy level have indicated a new focus by the owners on cultivating young talent, such as Archie Gray, who may subsequently be sold for a large profit.
The owners have introduced this style of forward-thinking management to Leeds, and with speculations circulating regarding the potential reconstruction of Elland Road, they do not appear to be stopping there.
