Nottingham Forest were held to a draw by Crystal Palace over the weekend, and Paul Merson has predicted whether the Reds will overcome Fulham tonight.
The Reds are currently level on points with Luton in the Premier League. Forest has risen out of the drop zone on goal difference thanks to Saturday’s result, and it’s now time to keep going.
Forest must put together a winning streak, and if the squad can do so, safety might be accomplished pretty easily this season with some hindsight.
The Reds have been docked four points for violating financial fair play rules. Everton might yet lose more points, and the struggle for survival is squarely in the balance.
Forest’s record versus Fulham isn’t fantastic. However, tonight is a new beginning, and the goal is to secure three major points.
Paul Merson predicts the outcome of Nottingham Forest against Fulham.
This is just another difficult game for Forest to deal with. After failing to overcome Crystal Palace at the weekend, the Reds will be under a little more pressure tonight because they are at home.
Fulham recently defeated Tottenham, and they are a dangerous team on their day. However, they were disappointed on Saturday when Sheffield United drew with them.
Merson experienced opposing viewpoints as Forest drew on Saturday. He worried about them at times during the game, but he believes the team will be fine if they win tonight.
He told Sportskeeda: “There were occasions on Saturday when I believed Forest were losing, but they managed to draw. They now have a home game against Fulham, and they may potentially go three points ahead of Luton.
“If they win this football match, I believe they will be fine. Nottingham Forest should have won their game at the weekend, but they earned an important point. This match could end in a tie between the two teams.
Forest has to start talking on the pitch.
When Forest trailed 1-0 at halftime on Saturday, boos reverberated throughout the City Ground, and fans were totally fed up. Now is the time to act, not just talk.
Forest have a tough journey to Tottenham next Saturday, and a win appears doubtful. As a result, the Reds must prepare themselves for what appears to be a must-win game tonight.
Fulham don’t have much to play for right now. They won’t be relegated this season, and it’s unlikely that they’ll make it to Europe, which provides Forest a motivation.
On Saturday, the Reds appeared to be lacking in ideas, which hopefully will not be the case tonight. Forest must come out firing, hoping to better their performance and secure three points.
