Patrick Bamford named the four Leeds players who arrived first for training, including the new signing

Leeds United return to action after the season’s first international break on Saturday, when they face Burnley, and Patrick Bamford could recover from injury in time.

The striker missed the win over Hull City before the break due to a hamstring injury, as did Wales winger Dan James. As competition for slots heats up, Bamford will be eager to return to fitness as soon as possible.

However, Bamford’s injury record is not ideal, and Leeds may be wary of reintroducing him to the team following another muscle issue. Especially because Leeds has two additional strikers.

Mateo Joseph has been on fire up front for Leeds this season, and he replicated that form for Spain’s U21 team during the break. Last time out, Joel Piroe made his season debut as a replacement.

Bamford selects the first four players for Leeds training.

Despite his limited playing time and career, Bamford continues to work in the media. He has produced a new episode of his My Mate Is A Footballer podcast.

The striker informed comedian and presenter Joe Wilkinson that the same four players regularly arrive first for training, one of them is the club’s summer addition who has yet to play.

Bamford claims that he, Sam Byram, goalkeeper Alex Cairns, and occasionally captain Ethan Ampadu are the first to arrive: “Always first in the morning is me, Sam Byram, Cairnsy, and sometimes Ethan Ampadu.”

Bamford could be about to sign a new Leeds contract.

Despite his injuries, lack of goals, and the fact that he is already 31, Bamford might become the next Leeds player to sign a new contract. His current contract expires in June 2026, and the 49ers see his future as a priority.

Ben Jacobs has stated that Bamford has no objections to playing in the Championship and is very devoted to Leeds. The striker is thought to have no plans to leave Leeds in the immediate future and might sign on.

“Bamford, I’m told, is a priority, and he’s willing to extend. He’s never had a problem playing in the Championship.” “He’s very loyal to Leeds and doesn’t want to leave at this point,” Jacobs explained.
