According to Football Insider, if Leeds United is promoted to the Premier League this season, they will have the option to make Joe Rodon’s loan move permanent.
Speaking on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior writer Pete O’Rourke stated that Leeds are “desperate” to sign Rodon this summer and consider him as a “massive” full-time signing.
Football Insider reported last month that the Welsh international is expected to leave Tottenham permanently when the transfer window reopens after being loaned out at Elland Road this season.
The 26-year-old centre-back has made numerous appearances for the Whites as he hopes to help them secure an immediate return to the Premier League.
Despite significant losses shown in Leeds’ recent finances, O’Rourke stated that there will be no “massive” need for the club to sell some of its stars this summer, with the club likely to move on a number of players loaned out last year.
Any possible incomings, however, will be determined by how much they can collect from players returning to Elland Road in the coming weeks.
Leeds United could sign Joe Rodon to a permanent agreement.
Rodon will most certainly be at the top of Daniel Farke’s wish list this summer now that he’s secured a spot in the starting lineup.
The defender has 42 appearances for the club and will be hoping to bring top-flight football back to West Yorkshire next season.
Rodon’s future at Elland Road will be primarily determined by whatever league the Whites play in, since a permanent move could be too expensive if they remain in the Championship.
O’Rourke anticipates interest in outstanding players Crysencio Summerville, Willy Gnonto, and Archie Gray even if Leeds get promoted.
However, Elland Road officials will be confident in retaining that trio and adding additional quality to the side if they are able to regain Premier League status.
