‘Oh, Blimey’ – Simon Jordan reacts to Leeds fixture news he receives live on air

Simon Jordan was caught aback by the prospect of Leeds United hosting Millwall at Elland Road for an FA Cup match.

Millwall will face National League side Dagenham & Redbridge at the Den on Monday (13 January), with the winner advancing to the fourth round at Elland Road on Saturday (8 February).

Leeds versus Millwall is usually a feisty affair with plenty of goals; the scene will be set if Alex Neil’s side can get past their opponents on Monday night.

Speaking live via talkSPORT [13 January, 11:36am], Jordan said: “Have they drawn them at Millwall or Leeds away?” and after being told the fixture will be played at Elland Road, he said: “Oh, blimey.”

Leeds United versus Millwall might potentially happen in the FA Cup.

As previously said, fights between these two sides can be fairly exciting, with ten yellow cards issued in the last two encounters alone.

They have also not had a goalless tie in any of their meetings since 2010, with three or more goals scored in five of the last eight games between the two Championship teams.

Of all, the FA Cup can throw form out the window, as evidenced by Tamworth’s tenacious display against Tottenham at The Lamb Ground on Sunday, January 12.

With the Lions currently more concerned on avoiding relegation than competing for Championship play-off berths, a run in the FA Cup could be just what they need.

On the other hand, the Whites’ major goal this season is to regain promotion to the Premier League, which may result in an early exit from the competition for Daniel Farke’s side.

If Millwall can get past Dagenham on Monday night, they will face an exciting struggle at Elland Road in the fourth round.
