Nuno, Nottingham Forest’s manager, has spoken out following his team’s defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Nuno was particularly dissatisfied with one facet of Forest’s game.

So, what did Nuno say following Nottingham Forest’s loss to Aston Villa? Let’s have a look.

Nuno compliments on Nottingham Forest following the Aston Villa match.

Nottingham Forest lost 4-2 to Aston Villa away from home at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday.

Villa scored the first goal of the game after four minutes, when Ollie Watkins tapped in following some excellent work down the right by Leon Bailey. Douglas Luiz scored in the 29th and 39th minutes.

As shown below, Forest boss Nuno was unimpressed with his team’s defensive performance.

Nuno told BBC Sport: “We started extremely poorly and conceded too easily. This is something we must improve.”

When asked about being cut open down the right, Nuno responded, “The attack from both sides, it is our obligation to fix the situation. We will analyze the game to make corrections and improvements.

“It is too easy for the opposition to score. We can always score, but we need to balance these two aspects of the game.

    Tough matches are coming up.

Aston Villa are in contention for a top-four spot in the Premier League this season, so Nottingham Forest’s defeat at Villa Park is not surprising.

Many famous commentators predicted Villa to win the Premier League match on Saturday afternoon.

What will be alarming for Forest is that they allowed up to four goals. The Reds had a dismal defensive performance against Villa.

Forest now face a difficult run of fixtures. Following their FA Cup meeting against Manchester United at the City Ground on Wednesday evening, the Reds will face Liverpool at home and Brighton & Hove Albion away in the Premier League.

Forest’s subsequent matches against Luton Town and Crystal Palace will be critical in their quest to avoid relegation to the Championship at the conclusion of the season.
