Taiwo Awoniyi, a Super Eagles striker, has made his first social media post since his injury was announced on March 16, according to Soccernet.ng.
Awoniyi has been a prolific goalscorer for Nottingham since joining the club from Union Berlin last season. He has 16 goals and four assists in 44 games with the Tricky Trees.
However, his main issue has been his fitness. Awoniyi has suffered with injuries since joining Nottingham. So far, the 26-year-old striker has missed 27 matches for Nottingham Forest. He even had to have surgery midway through the season and only returned in late January.
He played nine games before incurring an injury just before the international break, and Nottingham Forest have yet to confirm how long the Nigeria international will be sidelined. However, there is concern that he will be out of play for several weeks.
He posted a picture with this caption:
The Lord has done it, and no one can reverse it!
Human concerns cannot obstruct the work of my God.
Our help comes from the Rock.
Where He takes us to wealth.
Glory that the world has seen clearly
Goodness will be our part.
Since his rise to prominence, Awoniyi has openly expressed thankfulness to God for his grace, and this recent post is just one of many examples.
