Nottingham Forest are looking to add additional firepower to their squad this season as they strive to score more goals.
Chris Wood was a terror in attack last season, scoring 15 goals in all competitions.
Taiwo Awoniyi backed up the New Zealand striker, although there have been concerns about his fitness since joining Forest.
Furthermore, Awoniyi has been connected with West Ham, so there may be some movement with him this summer.
Another striker link has emerged, and Forest’s search for further firepower has broadened significantly.
Nottingham Forest wants Samu Omorodion.
Forest has been linked with several strikers, including Che Adams.
Now, according to a report from On the Minute, Forest are keen to ask Atletico Madrid some questions about their young striker Samu Omorodion.
The 20-year-old is a product of the academy ranks at the Wanda Metropolitano and was on the move last summer.
He joined Alaves on loan and enjoyed a pretty successful season in La Liga during the 2023/24 campaign.
Omorodion bagged nine goals during the season and that appears to have alerted some clubs towards his services.
The young talisman scored for Alaves in both of their defeats against Barcelona last term and he’s a player who looks set for a big future.
Forest won’t be the only club interested in the talisman and the report claims that Aston Villa are also monitoring the situation.
Omorodion ticks a lot of boxes for Forest
This would be an intriguing one and if a deal can come to fruition, perhaps Forest would get themselves a quality young player.
Last season, Forest opted to sign Divock Origi as backup to the current strikers and that move proved an expensive disaster.
Signing a talented young player would certainly appease the fans more and Omorodion looks like a decent player.
Squawka shows that Omorodion isn’t averse to getting stuck in and last season he won more ground duels than Chris Wood.
He also spent 2003 minutes on the pitch during his 35 appearances and fitness doesn’t appear an issue with the player.
Omorodion has been capped by Spain at Under-21 level and moved to Atletico from Granada for £4m last summer.
If Forest can get this one over the line, it would be exciting to see how Omorodion would take to life in the Premier League.
