Nottingham Forest transfer list four senior players – sources

Nottingham Forest have identified four players to sell as the club plans a fire sale of marginal players.

That is according to Football Insider journalist Daniel Bowers, who spoke with Football Insider on their Inside Track podcast.

English clubs must demonstrate their account figures on Sunday 30 June to abide by PSR rulings, with Forest sanctioned with a points deduction last season.

This time around, owner Evangelos Marinakis and the Forest hierarchy are working hard to transfer specific squad players in order to avoid more consequences.

Football Insider revealed on 28 June that Joe Worrall, with his boyhood club since breaking into the first-team setup in 2016, is among those the club are looking to transfer, as well as Emmanuel Dennis, Matt Turner and Lewis O’Brien.

Forest are said to be looking for a sum in the region of £4 million for local lad Worrall, 27, but it is unclear what it would take to lure away their remaining transfer-listed players.

Nottingham Forest is in a race against time for its fire sale.

Bowers has discussed what failing to sell the foursome could entail for Nottingham Forest, including the impact on Marinakis and manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

If Forest fails to raise at least £20 million in player sales within the next 48 hours, a points deduction is quite likely.

Another option would be to sell a key player from the squad, such as Morgan Gibbs-White, Murillo, or Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Former England, Tottenham and Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson exclusively told Football Insider [28 June] that the club may even weigh up the harder hit of whether a points deduction could be worth it when balanced with what the team’s key players can do for their points total next season.

With a mini-deadline day coming, Forest is going to be in serious difficulty if they do not gather the funds in time.
