The Reds are thought to have agreed on additional January transfer window business.
Andrew Omobamidele of Nottingham Forest is said to be in France to complete his transfer from the City Ground.
Omobamidele, a centre-back who joined Liverpool for £11 million from Norwich City nearly 17 months ago, has yet to make an impact. The Republic of Ireland international made 11 appearances for the club in the Premier League last season, but has not added to that tally so far during this campaign.
His only appearance this season came in a penalty shootout defeat to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup back in August. And his absence from the Forest squad against Luton Town in the FA Cup earlier this month was telling as other fringe players were involved.
Andy Reid, the Reds’ coach, has all but confirmed the player’s exit, and both Leeds United and Sheffield United have been connected with him during the January transfer window. However, L’Equipe reports that Omobamidele is in Strasbourg to complete his move to the Ligue 1 club after the French club and Forest reached an agreement on a transfer.
