Nottingham Forest has added a new senior figure to the club. Miran Pavlin has joined Evangelos Marinakis’ Reds as an international sports advisor.

Pavlin, 52, joins the City Ground after serving as Sporting Director of the Slovenian Football Association for the last four years. The club confirmed his appointment in a statement, which read: “Pavlin’s role will see him develop sporting initiatives around the world, support the expansion of the club’s international scouting network, and build international institutional relationships as the cub continues to grow globally.”

“Pavlin brings tremendous experience to Trentside, having spent the previous four years as sporting director for the Slovenian FA, culminating in qualification for Euro 2024. NK Maribor won many Slovenian titles and qualified for Europe five times, including two years in the Champions League, when he was its sporting director.

Pavlin played 63 games for Slovenia, representing the country at Euro 2000 and the 2002 World Cup. The former midfielder had a great club career, spending time in Portugal and Germany with FC Porto and SC Freiburg, respectively.

“Everyone at the Club wishes Miran the very best for his new role as we welcome him to Nottingham Forest.”
