Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive: Corinthians boss Antonio Oliveira speaks out about Carlos Miguel.
Carlos Miguel has been suspended by Corinthians boss Antonio Oliveira following allegations that he faked an injury in preparation for his projected transfer to Nottingham Forest.
The Reds are expected to recruit goalkeeper Miguel from the Brazilian club this summer as the club solves its goalkeeper situation. And the 25-year-old Corinthians player’s situation appears to have deteriorated.
Miguel reportedly complained of ankle troubles prior to Corinthians’ match against Athletico Paranaense last Saturday, but was cleared to play by club medics who found no injuries. Despite being cleared to participate, Miguel was not included in Oliveira’s team for Sunday’s encounter.
And the Corinthians manager made his sentiments about Miguel obvious after the game, saying, “No, Carlos Miguel no longer plays for Corinthians.” I have stated it before, and I will say it again in this group. Only those who want to be here at the club do so passionately, and many of those in this position today should be aware that many individuals aspire to represent one of the most prestigious clubs.
“It bothered me, it bothers me, and Carlos Miguel won’t be playing for Corinthians any more.”
