Nottingham Forest might grab a player from ‘vulnerable’ Leeds – The Athletic

Leeds United are in a “vulnerable” position and may lose Crysencio Summerville this summer, with Nottingham Forest reportedly keen, according to The Athletic’s Daniel Taylor.

During Taylor’s Q&A session with Forest [28 May], it was reported that the club expressed a strong interest in Summerville two years ago, with the Dutchman valued at roughly £2 million.

Following Leeds’ Championship play-off final defeat to Southampton on Sunday (26 May), the club faces a potential raid for its most valued assets, with Summerville a top target for numerous Premier League clubs and international sides.

Taylor commented: “I know Forest thought a lot about Crysencio Summerville two years ago.

“He was cheap back then, approximately £2 million, and one of those guys that, in retrospect, [Forest] should have gone for.

“Does that imply [they] will go after him now? I’m not sure, but that wouldn’t surprise me. Leeds will be susceptible, to say the least, this summer.

Summerville and others could depart Leeds United after the Wembley defeat.

Leeds United may have a difficult transfer season this summer after failing to return to the Premier League immediately.

While it appears that manager Daniel Farke will remain at Elland Road, some key players, including Summerville, Wilfried Gnonto, and Georginio Rutter, could go.

Phil Hay emphasized the reality that Leeds will have to sell players in order to meet EFL financial restrictions, as well as the truth that some of the club’s finest players will be dissatisfied with the prospect of another year out of the top flight.

Summerville is definitely one among them. The Championship Player of the Year is Premier League caliber and will almost certainly be cut from Farke’s team in the coming weeks.
