The latest Nottingham Forest transfer news as Nuno Espirito Santo’s Reds approach the summer window deadline.
Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto as the transfer deadline approaches.
The Reds have until 11 p.m. on Friday (August 30) to finalize any additional transactions before the summer transfer window ends. They’ve made nine signings so far, with two of them promptly loaned out to Olympiacos.
The team still has work to do to complete Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad as they try to advance in the Premier League. Incomings are expected in the last hours of the timeframe.
Carlos Miguel, a goalkeeper, has already joined Forest this summer. The Brazilian made his debut on Wednesday night, when Nuno’s side was eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Newcastle United.
However, there was always the possibility that the Reds will bring in two shot-stoppers this season as part of a goalkeeping overhaul. Speculation about keepers being targeted had gone down in recent weeks, but it may have been rekindled prior of the deadline.
According to the Daily Mail’s Window Watch, and as reported by Sun journalist Alan Nixon, Forest are interested in Cherries goalkeeper Neto. A’shock’ inquiry is alleged to have been conducted.
Since joining from Corinthians in July, Miguel has become Matz Sels’ No. 2. On his maiden appearance for the club, he conceded after only 18 seconds against the Magpies, but he recovered to make some excellent stops. The second-round tie ended 1-1 at full time, but the hosts fell 4-3 in the penalty shootout.
Whether another goalkeeper arrives at the City Ground is likely to have an impact on Matt Turner. The acquisition of Miguel has moved the American down the pecking order, and he is one of the players whose futures are in doubt as the window nears its end.
