On December 9th, UOL reported that Nottingham Forest had made contact to sign Botafogo’s Igor Jesus in the winter market. They indicated that a fee in excess of €20 million would be required for the transfer to proceed.

The Reds reportedly requested a cost of around €30 million, which the Brazilian club deemed ‘interesting’. Botafogo is yet to meet with Nuno Espírito Santo to discuss bonuses and other issues.
That’s because the Brazil international has declined Nottingham Forest’s offer. He is content with his current employer, where he has a contract that runs until December 2027.
According to the report, Nottingham Forest’s salary offer was insufficient to entice the frontman.
Jesus believes it is best for him to stay at the South American club, and they are glad to keep him despite Nottingham Forest’s attractive offer.
The player joined Botafogo for free last summer and has eight goals and five assists in 31 games.
