Nottingham Forest make a five-year offer to a massive player who has played with Murillo

He appears to be their first signing this summer. Nottingham Forest are reportedly close to completing a deal that will result in two more exits this summer.

    Forest navigates tough financial waters.

After being punished four points by the Premier League for violating financial fair play criteria, Forest will do all possible to avoid a repetition next season. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team survived by the skin of their teeth on the final day of the season, sending Luton Town to the Championship in their stead.

Now it has been revealed that they must raise approximately £20 million through player sales by June 30th to comply with the restrictions once more, however they are claimed to be “relaxed” about the situation as they attempt to unload fringe players.

They have already freed up major pay with the departures of Wayne Hennessey, Harry Arter, Cheikhou Kouyate, and Felipe, saving a total of £160,000 each week.

Forest are also planning to move Nuno Tavares, Gio Reyna, and Gonzalo Montiel back to their parent clubs, freeing up even more cash.

In addition, Joe Worrall, Emmanuel Dennis, and Lewis O’Brien are believed to be free agents, with the latter garnering interest from Ipswich Town. As a result, they are certain that compliance will be met, and they have now shifted their focus to incomings.

    Forest to trigger three deals

First on their list looks to be goalkeeper Carlos Miguel, who has a £3.5 million release clause in his £6.4k per week contract with Brazilian club Corinthians.

Forest has struggled to find a first-choice goalkeeper, with many trialists failing to impress, and they appear to be looking to add another alternative this summer.

The Brazilian is already familiar with Forest defender Murillo, who moved from Corinthians to the City Ground last summer. The two spent a season together, but only played four games together.

Now, they appear to be reunited, with Football Transfers stating that the Midlands club is ‘close in’ on a deal for the 25-year-old shot-stopper. They further state that ‘personal conditions have been verbally agreed’ and that Miguel is ‘likely to sign a five-year deal’ in Nottingham.

His arrival will set off a chain reaction of transfers, with the 6 foot 8 Miguel, one of the world’s tallest footballers, becoming the club’s seventh goalie since promotion to the Premier League, as well as their fifth permanent signing.

Hennessey will leave as a free agent, but additional players are anticipated to depart, including Odysseas Vlachodimos, according to the article. Meanwhile, Matt Turner is “available” following a string of weak performances, which will most likely see Matz Sels remain at number one and Miguel move up to number two in the Midlands.
