Nottingham Forest are hoping to sign a new midfielder before the transfer market closes on August 30.
They’ve had a busy summer, bringing in Nikolo Milenkovic, Elliot Anderson, Jota Silva, and Ramon Sosa.
However, more arrivals are expected in the following days as the Tricky Trees seek to expand their numbers.
According to Calciomercato.com, the Premier League club has made an official bid for Roma’s Edoardo Bove.
Their bid was lower than the Italian side’s £13 million assessment, and the two parties are currently in talks to achieve an agreement.
Bove is a Roma youth product who worked his way up the ranks before making his competitive debut against Crotone in 2021.
He has now established himself as an integral player of the club, making 92 appearances in all competitions and scoring four goals.
However, the Italian is not expected to be part of Daniele De Rossi’s plans for 2024-25 and was an unused replacement in their first two Serie A games.
Roma are willing to sell the 22-year-old, and Nottingham Forest have expressed the most interest in signing him this summer.
The Tricky Trees have also been linked with Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira.
However, signing the Brazilian is believed to be difficult because the Cottagers have already traded Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich and do not want to lose another key player.
Forest have made a promising start to the new season, picking up four points from their first two games against Bournemouth and Southampton.
