Nottingham Forest is not giving up after making a €25 million bid and a fresh attempt is on the way

The Turkish tabloid Sabah reported on Nottingham Forest’s purported effort to sign Barış Alper Yılmaz from Galatasaray.

The headline ‘Bye Bye Nottingham’ stands out, and the Sabah slant is that Galatasaray are certain they can compete with the Premier League team and keep the Turkish international.

Yılmaz’s contract with the Super Lig team runs until 2026. The 24-year-old forward, who primarily plays on the right but is fairly adaptable, has nine goals and one assist in 26 games this season.

Sabah Report Nottingham Forest has already had a €25 million offer rejected by Galatasaray, albeit they don’t specify when that proposal occurred.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team ‘did not give up’ after that, and a Turkish tabloid reports that they are prepared to return and try again.

Galatasaray plans to develop their squad around Yılmaz rather than sell him during this transfer window.

The player’s perspectives on the scenario are not shared, which will be important in this window and the next.
