Latest Nottingham Forest news: the Reds are thought to have made an approach to former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s future as Nottingham Forest head coach has been called into question.
Speculation concerning the Portuguese’s future at the City Ground began shortly after the 2023/24 season ended. He was reported to be on the radar of other clubs, and the Reds were linked with other managers.
Former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli has reportedly turned Forest down.
Nuno’s future was initially discussed less than 24 hours after guiding Forest to Premier League safety with a final-day victory over Burnley. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, “there’s a chance” he’ll leave the club this summer.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager was then mentioned as a possible candidate for the Bayern Munich position before Vincent Kompany was selected. Forest were claimed to be interested in ex-Brighton and Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi and Fiorentina’s Vincenzo Italiano, while Evangelos Marinakis was said to have asked super agent Jorge Mendes to “recommend” possibilities.
According to a recent article in The Sun, Nuno is “expected” to remain in charge of Trentside for the start of the new season in August. He was claimed to have kept Marinakis’ faith, who has made no secret of his desire to join the Reds.
The rumors began after Nuno made a cryptic comment about his future during his final pre-match press conference of the season. Prior to the match against the Clarets, he was asked if he hoped to be part of Marinakis’ vision for the club and simply said, “I’m here now.”
