Latest Nottingham Forest news as Nuno Espirito Santo’s Reds have two Premier League fixtures rescheduled.
Two crucial Nottingham Forest meetings have been rescheduled after being picked for live television coverage.
The last 12 games of the Premier League season are critical for the Reds as they strive to keep their top-tier position. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team will be hoping to put on a good run between now and May.
TNT Sports will broadcast Forest’s game against Fulham live from the City Ground. It will still take place on Tuesday, April 2, but will begin earlier at 7.30 p.m.
The Reds’ journey to London to play Tottenham Hotspur has been rescheduled for another day. It was initially set for Saturday, April 6, but has been rescheduled for Monday, April 8, with a kickoff time of 8 p.m. due to its live broadcast on Sky Sports.
Not all Forest fans were pleased with the postponing of the Spurs game. Here’s what some people said on social media.
@maccalewis__: Monday 8pm kickoff away in London; lucky to get home by 1:30/2am.
@reidy_nffc: Spurs away Monday night, that’s really bad.
@AdamCallo23: Moving Spurs to Monday night Sky, always putting the fans first.
@HarryPo456: The final trains before the full time whistle.
@nejibob: There are no difficulties with the Fulham move, but the Spurs fixture rescheduling is an absolute shame; was there any consideration for the travelling fans?
Nuno’s men are currently 17th in the Premier League table, four points clear of third-placed Luton Town. Everton’s penalty for breaching financial restrictions was cut from 10 points to six on Monday afternoon, causing the Reds to drop one spot. They are also facing their own charge of violating the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), which includes the possibility of a point deduction.
Nuno aims to address Forest’s inconsistency and tighten the defense to prevent goals from leaking. “It is finding the balance,” he says. “Nobody doubts that going forward we are doing things well, because we are scoring and creating chances, we have good momentum and good play. But at the same time we have to improve, because football is made of offensive and defensive. Being compact and solid has to be our main target.”
