Current Nottingham Forest transfer rumors as the Reds bolster the coaching staff of Nuno Espirito Santo
Jota Silva, a Portuguese winger, is Nottingham Forest’s sixth summer transfer acquisition.
The 25-year-old, who recently moved from Vitoria Guimaraes, signed a four-year contract. It is rumored that the Reds paid an upfront fee of £6 million to get his services.
Nuno Espirito Santo, the head coach of Forest, has spoken openly his desire to bolster his array of possibilities this summer. Jota will now start working with the Reds team in order to get ready for the 2024–2025 Premier League campaign.
“We can see how excited Jota is to continue his career journey beyond Portugal where he has enjoyed such a strong period in the Primeira Liga with Vitoria Guimaraes,” stated Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson. “Earlier in March, Jota made his debut for the Portuguese National Team.”
According to reports, the Reds defeated Panathinaikos and Krasnodar in the competition for Jota’s signature. The Greek team offered 7 million euros (£5.8 million) and the Russian team offered 11 million euros (£9 million), but Jota decided to move to the City Ground.
In 83 games since joining Vitoria in 2022, the Portugal international has netted 19 goals for the team. In the summer, Forest signed Carlos Miguel, Nikola Milenkovic, Elliot Anderson, Eric da Silva Moreira, and Marko Stamenic; the latter will play on loan at Olympiacos.
