Nottingham Forest are expected to miss out on a midfield target.
Nuno Espirito Santo is still looking to recruit more players during the summer transfer window in order to build a group capable of finishing in the middle of the table.
He will not want to face another relegation battle this season, so one or two more quality acquisitions are required.
Having said that, Forest are expected to miss out on a rumoured target who they attempted to recruit early in the window.
Ezequiel Fernandez plans to join Al Qadsiah.
Last week, Nottingham Forest news stated that the club had bid £18 million for Boca Junior midfielder Ezequiel Fernandez.
The East Midlanders were eager to get him to the City Ground following his strong exploits at the base of midfield for Boca and Argentina’s youth teams.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, he is reportedly ready to reject a move to the Premier League in favour of Saudi Pro League club Al Qadsiah.
The transfer specialist adds that Fernandez is expected to sign a five-year contract after a condition in his contract was activated.
Forest moves on to the next one.
Nottingham Forest should consider Ben Sheaf.
Apparently, Nottingham Forest are still looking for a holding midfielder, thus Coventry City’s Ben Sheaf could be considered.
The 26-year-old has established himself as one of the greatest midfielders in the Championship in recent seasons and appears to be ready to make the step up to the top division.
Sheaf is similar to Declan Rice, and his driving runs would fit well with Nuno’s classic approach.
