“Not part of the First Team”: Director sends him to the reserves following terrible season at Nottingham Forest

One player has been made to pay for his dismal 2023/24 season at Nottingham Forest.

Many football clubs across Europe are currently making decisions on which players to keep and which to sell.

A player who struggled at Nottingham Forest last season has been encouraged to look for another club.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic dismisses Divock Origi at AC Milan after a disappointing loan spell at Nottingham Forest.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is currently Director of Football at AC Milan, has confirmed to Tutto Mercato Web that Divock Origi is no longer a member of the San Siro’s First Team.

The decision comes after the Belgian international made only six Premier League starts on loan at the City Ground last season, netting one goal in 22 appearances across all competitions.

Ibrahimovic elaborated: “Origi and Ballo-Toure have been called up, but they will play for Milan Futuro (reserve side) because they are not part of the First Team project.”

With Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic, Noah Okafor, and Samuel Chukwueze already at AC Milan, the Belgian needed to do something unique on loan at Nottingham Forest to impress those in Italy.

While Origi failed to do so, we may sympathize with him because Steve Cooper, the man who recruited him, only lasted until December before being replaced by Nuno Espirito Santo, in a season when Nottingham Forest’s attacking play was far from polished under either manager.

Nuno Espirito Santo could certainly secure a low contract.

Nuno seems to enjoy the 29-year-old, despite the fact that he didn’t exactly shine at Nottingham Forest.

The Portuguese strategist praised Origi’s performance against Aston Villa in February, and we believe a cheap trade is possible following Ibrahimovic’s comments.

We believe Nottingham Forest can do better, but if Nuno wants an experienced option to bolster his assault this summer, AC Milan will most likely agree to allow the guy from Oostende leave with reasonable ease after demoting him to the reserves.
