‘No uncertainty’: Two Tottenham transfer candidates revealed as new Spurs recruit informs he’ll be a “massive loss’

According to sources, Tottenham will “no doubt” want to recruit Serhou Guirassy and Santiago Gimenez if they try to buy a new centre-forward this month.

Spurs have been one of the more busy clubs in the transfer market thus far, with two incomings and six outgoings in the 12 days remaining.

Timo Werner has joined on loan from RB Leipzig until the end of the season, while Radu Dragusin has signed from Serie A club Genoa for a record €30 million.

A story from earlier today suggested Tottenham are on the approach of securing their third signing of the winter season, with Club Brugge winger Antonio Nusa getting closer to a transfer to north London.

Rumours suggest that Ange Postecoglou, who has Spurs playing an exciting brand of offensive and successful football, is also looking for a new striker after losing Harry Kane to Bayern Munich in the summer transfer market.

According to Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas, both Stuttgart’s Guirassy – who has also been connected with Manchester United – and Feyenoord’s Gimenez will be on Tottenham’s radar following their impressive starts to the season.

Thomas told The Spurs Chat Podcast: “If Tottenham are in the market for a new centre-forward this summer, Serhou Guirassy and Santiago Gimenez will undoubtedly be on the list of players they evaluate and look at.

“They are two of Europe’s young strikers who are performing exceptionally well. When you talk to coaches, scouts, technical directors, and even club management, they all mention Guirassy and Santiago Gimenez.”

New Tottenham signing Werner departed Chelsea in 2022 to return to RB Leipzig in attempt to revitalize his career, having scored only ten Premier League goals in 56 games.

Werner has struggled with form and injury upon his return to Germany, but RB Leipzig defender David Raum believes he is a “big loss” for the Bundesliga club.

“He has not had an easy season. He also had injuries last season, which obviously factored into the equation,” Raum told Sport 1.

“However, he continued to aid us. He was there for everyone, cared after them, and made them feel good. That’s why it’s a significant loss for the cabin.

“If that’s what it took for him to get back to the Premier League, then I wish him the best.”
