Newcastle wants to sign £15 million Nottingham Forest, but Nuno suddenly wants to keep him

Nottingham Forest’s team will undergo a number of changes this summer, with Nuno Espirito Santo looking to revamp it.

So far, this week has been a busy one for Forest in terms of transfers.

Elliot Anderson arrived from Newcastle, whilst Odysseas Vlachodimos signed with the Magpies.

Forest reported earlier today that Brandon Aguilera has signed a permanent contract with Rio Ave, which may have surprised some.

According to reports, Forest could face a battle to maintain another of its great players this summer.

Newcastle still interested in signing another Forest player.

The Magpies aren’t stopping at Vlachodimos; it’s been reported that they want to sign another Forest star.

According to The Athletic, Eddie Howe remains interested in signing Anthony Elanga as a right-winger.

When Forest were first linked with a deal to sign Anderson over the weekend, it was speculated that the Swedish player could be the makeweight.

Elanga had an excellent maiden season in the Premier League with Forest.

He was a mainstay on the team under Steve Cooper and Nuno Espirito Santo, contributing five goals and nine assists.

Elagna cost Forest only £15 million from Manchester United, and if they sell him now, the club might get a far larger price.

Forest has the aces with Elanga.

Newcastle may wish to sign Elanga, but that doesn’t mean the club must sell unless their valuation is fulfilled.

Forest appears to have followed PSR this time around, and they should have avoided another points deduction.

With that in mind, the club is unlikely to sell its best players, which will force Newcastle to dig deep.

Furthermore, Elanga is unlikely to want to leave Forest now.

He plays week in and week out for a manager who has given him the opportunity to shine in the first team, and hopefully he will demonstrate his loyalty.

Newcastle had to sell Anderson to Forest over the weekend to comply with PSR.

As a result, they may need to keep a strict eye on their purse strings, and we don’t see them being able to purchase Elanga anytime soon.
