Nottingham Forest will face a summer of uncertainty to a certain extent as a number of elite players will come under consideration for other teams.
The Reds could qualify for European action in 2025/26, as Forest are currently third in the Premier League table and performing admirably.
Chelsea is interested in signing Murillo this summer. The Blues had a bid rejected for the Brazilian defender in January, and it appears that they will return for him when the transfer window reopens at the conclusion of the season.
Meanwhile, Liverpool has expressed interest in Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson. The champions-elect will look for new recruits in the summer, and Arne Slot is said to be a fan of both Forest players.
Others will be interested, and Newcastle are reportedly mulling a move to capture a key player who has prospered under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Newcastle still likes Forest star Anthony Elanga.
Newcastle tried desperately to sign Elanga in the summer. Forest rejected their offer of up to £50 million, leaving little time to find a successor during the summer transfer season.
Ben Jacobs told Give Me Sport that they will be looking to add a new right winger this summer after the Carabao Cup finalists allowed Miguel Almiron to leave St. James’ Park.
“Newcastle will definitely sign a right winger,” he declared. Put your mortgage on it. They’ve have to replace Miguel Almiron. They still like Anthony Elanga of Nottingham Forest, among others.
It appears doubtful that many will push too hard for a move away from the club if European football is guaranteed, and Forest will want to retain some of their best players for the upcoming campaign.
Stats for Anthony Elanga in 2024–2025
The Forest team’s fastest player is Elanga. He has pace to burn defenders and he has been a real asset for Forest in recent weeks on the pitch with Callum Hudson-Odoi injured.
When Elanga and Hudson-Odoi play in tandem, the Reds get some real joy on the counter. In the absence of the former Chelsea man, Elanga has stepped up and he’s growing as a player.
Elanga only cost Forest £15 million from Manchester United. He was constantly overlooked at Old Trafford and given their plight this season, they might wish they’d clung on to him.
It will take a lot of work for Newcastle to sign Elanga. His value will have increased dramatically over the course of a year if he takes Forest into Europe, as he was rated at £50 million last summer.
