Newcastle United is interested in signing Botafogo’s 24-year-old sensation, Luiz Henrique.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Fiorentina is leading the race to get him, while Newcastle has competition from Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Zenit, and even Lyon, despite their financial woes.

Henrique joined Botafogo for €16 million last year, having previously played in La Liga with Real Betis. Standing 6 feet tall, he has six caps for the Brazilian national team and can play on either wing or up front.

“What the f**k is he doing?!” Which former Liverpool player claims he was ready to “kill” Luis Suarez following a training ground incident?

Eddie Howe is searching for a quality upgrade on Miguel Almiron, who has been linked with a move back to America. Tyler Dibling and Bryan Mbeumo are two names who may replace the Magpies’ attacker, but they are regarded to be too expensive at the moment.

Newcastle has only two weeks left in the January transfer window, so they need to move quickly.

Where does Martin Dubravka’s future lie?

One man who is set to leave Newcastle is Martin Dubravka. The goalkeeper has reportedly decided to remain at St James’ Park beyond the end of the season.

He had been expected to join Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab this month and after Newcastle’s impressive 2-0 win over Arsenal in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, Dubravka seemed to wave goodbye to the fans. However, things took a turn after the match, as head coach Eddie Howe and sporting director Paul Mitchell held talks that led to renewed discussions about the goalkeeper’s future, reports the Daily Mail.

Dubravka has been vital in stepping up during Nick Pope’s injury layoff, starting the last ten games, gaining nine victories, keeping six clean sheets, and conceding only seven goals.

Although the 36-year-old’s current contract expires at the conclusion of the season, a new contract with better terms is already being discussed, according to reports.
