Forest is set to face Newcastle in the Premier League.

Newcastle United has earned a double contract boost as they prepare to face Nottingham Forest.

Martin Dubravka, a goalkeeper, has signed a contract extension, committing his future to the club.

With his previous contract set to expire in the summer, the 36-year-old Slovakia international has been linked with a January transfer to the Saudi Pro League.

However, after regular number one Nick Pope sustained a knee injury, Dubravka found himself back in the first-team picture, having made 14 appearances in all competitions and assisting Eddie Howe’s side to the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

“I have a really particular connection with the club, the personnel, and the fans.

“My children were born here, so they are now Geordies, and this club has a special place in my heart.”

“I feel that the team is in a really good place at the minute, with how we are doing in the league and obviously being in two cup competitions is really exciting.”

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe stated, “Martin is a high-quality goalkeeper who has performed admirably for Newcastle United over the years.”

“It’s no secret that he had other options in January, but he deserves a lot of credit for staying focused. We are glad Martin is staying with us.”

Newcastle also announced Sweden defender Emil Krafth, 30, has signed a contract extension until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Krafth said: “It’s an exciting time to be part of this club.

“We have a lot to play for throughout the rest of this season, and I’m looking forward playing my part in helping the team finish the season in a positive way.”
