‘Nearly impossible’: talkSPORT expert lowers Leeds prediction amid Championship title admission

Tony Cascarino believes the Championship title race is “nearly impossible” to predict, admitting that he felt Leeds United were a “given” for promotion.

The Whites are only one point behind Leicester City and Ipswich Town at the top of the table, and Daniel Farke will be looking to capitalise after the Foxes lost 1-0 at Plymouth Argyle on Friday (12 April).

Tony Cascarino believes the Championship title race is “nearly impossible” to predict, admitting that he felt Leeds United were a “given” for promotion.

Leeds are scheduled to face Blackburn Rovers on Saturday (13 April), with a win propelling them to top place before the Tractor Boys can respond against Middlesbrough at Portman Road.

Cascarino spoke live on talkSPORT on Saturday (13 April, 6:56am): “Whoever finds the form out of those three…” I believed Leeds would make it, I thought Leeds were the given. Then, Ipswich made a brief comeback before losing.

“Millwall’s 1-0 victory over Leicester City was another huge win for Neil Harris’ bottom-placed team. Calling that is nearly impossible.”

Can Leeds United beat Leicester City and Ipswich Town to the Championship title?

The title competition has spread to fans in other leagues in England, with neutrals all taking sides as Leeds, Leicester, and Ipswich all seek automatic promotion.

Whichever club misses out on the top two slots will be devastated, as the Championship playoffs are always unpredictable and sad for those that fail.

So far, the Championship has been an exciting battle, and the league title seems poised to come down to the wire, especially with each of the three teams facing their fair share of setbacks recently.
