Leeds United’s Welsh quintet competed for their country Friday night against Glen Kamara’s Finland in a Euro 2024 qualification playoff semi-final, with Wales winning 4-1.

With the international break starting, there’s little to look forward to from a Leeds standpoint this week, but there’s plenty of action at Elland Road anyway.

Wales is the one to keep an eye on, with four Leeds regulars in Rob Page’s team as they attempt to qualify for Euro 2024 via playoffs.

A home match against Glen Kamara’s Finland team gave Wales with an opportunity to travel to Germany for Euro 2024, which they have moved one step closer to securing.

The home team easily defeated the Finns, scoring four goals through David Brooks, Neco Williams, Brennan Johnson, and Dan James.

All four Leeds players played, with Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu, and Connor Roberts beginning and James coming off the bench in the second half.

Joe Rodon delighted national media with another dominant performance.

The fast winger added gloss to the scoreline in the 86th minute, capitalizing on a Finnish defensive error to race clear, round the keeper, and touch into an empty net.

It’s almost par for the course in 2024 that Joe Rodon has a superb game, proving to be a rock at the back for his country just like he had been for Leeds since the turn of the new year (and before really). In WalesOnline’s player ratings for the match, Rodon picked up an 8/10, with this written about his display:
