Move to Nottingham Forest isn’t dead; player clearly wants the trade

We reported last week on allegations from Argentina that Ramón Sosa has refused to train with CA Talleres after they publicly declared they had halted negotiations with Nottingham Forest.

The dynamic winger was not in the team to face Barracas Central on Friday and has refused to play in the crucial game against River Plate next week.

Nottingham Forest verbally agreed to a deal before reportedly modifying everything, which did not please the Argentine team.

TyC Sports reports that the 24-year-old could still leave for Nottingham Forest or another team this summer. They say that if a transfer hasn’t already been arranged, it will most likely take place within the following several days.

According to the newspaper, it would have been normal for the Paraguay international to train with the rest of the group after his club cancelled his transfer to Nottingham Forest. However, to avoid harm, he has decided not to train.

Talleres will face River Plate in the Copa Libertadores on Thursday [UK time], and Sosa’s availability for this crucial match remains unknown.

The option of joining the Reds or another team is still available. Given this, it’s unclear whether Sosa can fully commit to Talleres if he plays against River Plate.

TyC Sport said the ‘outlook is discouraging’ right now, and Sosa and his club want to address the matter as quickly as possible. It is unclear whether the Premier League club will make another attempt to sign him during this transfer season.
