Daniel Farke may make two changes to his starting lineup as Leeds United prepares to face Burnley on Saturday (14 Saturday).
With Dan James injured for another four weeks [Yorkshire Evening Post] and Manor Solomon away on international duty, Largie Ramazani might take his position.
While Ilia Gruev was commended for managing his Bulgaria squad in a “perfect” manner during the international break [Moyo News], he may be replaced because new signing Ao Tanaka has also impressed for Japan.
Leeds will be eager to maintain their excellent form, having taken seven points from their last three games before the international break, and Farke will avoid making too many changes.
Is Daniel Farke going to fire Ilia Gruev before Leeds United’s game against Burnley?
Given the Whites’ recent Championship record of three clean sheets, benching the goalie or any of the defensive back-four would be exceedingly severe.
With that in mind, Illan Meslier is anticipated to retain his place between the sticks, with Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon likely to continue as the centre-back pairing against the Clarets.
Junior Firpo and Jayden Bogle have both established themselves as full-backs, and Farke has given no indication that Sam Byram or Max Wober would be included in the starting lineup.
While Gruev has done little to warrant his removal from the starting lineup, Farke has heaped praise on Tanaka since his arrived, and he might face Burnley at Elland Road this weekend.
As previously said, James’ injury setback could provide Ramazani with the ideal opportunity to make his first start for Leeds, with Solomon on the bench. While this could drive Wilfried Gnonto to the right flank, he can be equally deadly on either side.
Brenden Aaronson has got mixed reactions since his return to Elland Road this summer, but he appears to have regained Farke’s faith, so the American could continue to play behind in-form striker Mateo Joseph.
