Dan James and Sam Byram are expected to return in three changes to Leeds United’s starting lineup against Bristol City at Ashton Gate on October 26.
Junior Firpo will miss the Championship clash due to suspension, and Daniel Farke may be without Largie Ramazani, who appeared to sustain an injury in Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Watford.
Mateo Joseph may also return to Farke’s starting lineup after Joel Piroe was substituted in the 72nd minute of their game against the Hornets due to his lack of effect.
Dan James should get his first Leeds United start since August.
Illan Meslier will undoubtedly start the game, as the Frenchman is on a redemption mission following a disastrous performance against Sunderland earlier in the season.
Jayden Bogle, who has played right-back throughout the season, might also take up that duty.
Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon are poised to put in another strong performance and attempt to keep Bristol’s attackers away from Leeds’ goal.
Farke’s first move will be at left-back, since Firpo will be suspended for the game. Both Sam Byram and Isaac Schmidt are viable alternatives to fill the vacancy, but the former is more likely to be chosen to improve Leeds’ defensive consistency.
In defensive midfield, the explosive combo of Joe Rothwell and Ao Tanaka will most likely be the squad’s anchors because new signing Josuha Guilavogui will not be given a starting role yet, but he may make a cameo appearance.
James should start over the injured Ramazani at left flank and may have a significant impact on the game if chosen. Manor Solomon is another viable possibility, but the latter has shown off-pace in recent weeks.
On the right, Leeds’ key player Willy Gnonto will help lead their assaults and will undoubtedly have an impact on the outcome of the game.
Brenden Aaronson’s turnaround story will very likely continue, and after his most recent performance against Watford, it’s difficult to understand why Farke would drop his number 10 from his starting lineup.
Finally, Joseph could lead Leeds’ attacking line. The Spaniard has been interchanged with Piroe throughout the season, and after the Dutchman was substituted before the end of their game against Watford, the youngster might be in line for a starting berth if the more experienced forward is dropped.
