Monchi eyes £21 million star as next Aston Villa signing; he flopped at Nottingham Forest

Aston Villa will have plenty of depth for the upcoming season.

Last season, Aston Villa surprised the odds by finishing fourth in the Premier League and qualifying for the Champions League.

They have seized every chance this summer to strengthen their team for their European adventures, with eight new recruits coming at Villa Park.

However, they are not finished yet, as HITC stated that Villa is still in talks with Atletico Madrid for Joao Felix.

The Portuguese star would be a statement signing for Unai Emery, and Villa is even willing to make Felix the club’s highest paid.

But Villa haven’t put all their eggs in one basket; they still have other transfer goals this summer, notably a centre-back.

    Aston Villa targets Sevilla star.

According to the Spanish outlet VamosMiSevilla, Monchi, Villa’s President of Football Operations, has identified Loic Bade as a centre-back target.

Diego Carlos had a poor preseason with Villa and could be leaving.

HITC reported in May that Villa will entertain offers for Carlos this summer, two years after signing him from Sevilla for £26 million.

According to the rumor, Sevilla is not interested in re-signing Carlos, and he will most likely depart Villa this summer. Villa are preparing another raid on Sevilla for Bade, who is available for 25 million Euros (£21 million).

Bade had previously been linked with Tottenham, but he dismissed reports of a move this summer.

The 24-year-old is now part of France’s Olympic squad.

Loic Bade flopped at Nottingham Forest.

Bade previously joined Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan in 2022, but the French defender did not play a single minute for the first team.

Forest did not only decline to execute their buy option, but they also terminated his loan agreement in January, and he returned to Rennes.

He then joined Sevilla on loan for the second part of the season, impressing the Spanish club so much that they decided to sign him permanently last summer.
