Milos Kerkez and Liverpool are the subject of some transfer rumours. The Hungarian left-back is reportedly a goal for sporting director Richard Hughes and head coach Arne Slot.
Hughes previously signed Kerkez while serving as technical director at Bournemouth, and is expected to sign the 21-year-old again.
Kerkez leads a left-back shortlist that includes Rayan Ait-Nouri and Antonee Robinson as the Reds look to move on from their present options.
Andy Robertson has been a constant for much of the last decade, but he hasn’t always been in the team under Slot, and the club will likely listen to offers for Kostas Tsimikas this summer.
Kerkez, considering his age and Premier League experience, has the potential to dominate Liverpool’s flank in the coming years.
Kerkez-Szoboszlai link-up
Another plotline involves Kerkez’s long-standing friendship with Hungary national team captain Dominik Szoboszlai. The Liverpool midfielder and his international teammate are known to be close and don’t mind mentioning each other in the public.
However, Kerkez lately went to considerable measures to conceal his friendship with Szoboszlai, maybe to avoid fueling further Liverpool transfer speculation.
On Thursday, the full-back shared a carousel to his Instagram account labeled “enjoy the ride”. Initially, one of the images had Szoboszlai and Kerkez frolicking in Hungary attire.
Given that Hungary has yet to hold a gathering in 2025, we can only infer it was taken from Kerkez’s camera roll some time ago.
Kerkez deletes Szoboszlai’s post – why?
However, the message was swiftly altered to remove the Szoboszlai information, raising questions as to why.
It’s no secret that the two are tight, and Liverpool are fans of Kerkez’s abilities. The question remains as to what – or who – prompted Kerkez to delete the message.
Perhaps the image-conscious Szoboszlai was dissatisfied with his tight trousers, tucked-in top, white socks, and eye-goggles ensemble and begged his friend to delete?
We may never know.
