Newcastle United has ended their 70-year trophy drought with a magnificent 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Wembley.
Thousands of Newcastle fans celebrated the win in London, and much more at home on Tyneside. Alan Shearer was seen celebrating in the audience, and Elliot Anderson joined the crowd at Wembley.
Newcastle fans shook Wembley Stadium when Alexander Isak doubled his team’s lead in the second half. Supporters created an electrifying atmosphere, and it was evident that it meant a lot more to the travelling Toon fans.
Fans will not have good memories of Michael Owen or his time at Newcastle, but he instantly issued a message to the club following the Carabao Cup success.

Owen ‘regrets’ joining Newcastle in 2005, and his refusal to play in 2009 left a bad taste in Newcastle fans’ mouths.
He is one of 26 footballers to have played for both Liverpool and Newcastle, but Newcastle fans will have a sneaking suspicion that he was not rooting for the Magpies on Sunday.

After Newcastle upset the odds and beat Liverpool at Wembley, Owen sent a message to his former team congratulating them on the victory.
“What an incredible moment at Wembley. Nobody can doubt that NUFC deserved it. Brilliant performance. “I wonder how long the celebrations will last?” Owen posted on X.
