Mark Warburton was asked about the Sunderland position on a recent podcast appearance.

Mark Warburton, who has managed Rangers, QPR, and Nottingham Forest, was recently asked if he would consider taking the Sunderland position when appearing on a podcast.

Mike Dodds will take charge of Sunderland’s first team until the end of the season following Michael Beale’s dismissal earlier this month. Dodds’ appointment as “interim” has sparked conjecture about the Black Cats’ next move in the summer, with numerous individuals linked.

On the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Warburton was asked if he’d take the Sunderland job if offered it, but he didn’t commit, instead praising the Wearsiders as a “massive” club.

“If you don’t see the potential at Sunderland, as a manager or coach…” It’s a large nightclub. Great fan base. “Anyone who does that job correctly will be in for a fantastic ride,” Warburton stated during his podcast interview.

Sunderland face Swansea City at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
