Olympiacos of Greece completed the loan signing of David Carmo from Porto this week, with the option to buy.
The defender had a conflict with Dragons’ manager Sérgio Conceição and teammates, prompting the club to find a swift solution for his departure.
According to CMTV, Nottingham Forest could become involved in the scenario and sign Carmo in the near future.
The scenario is described by journalist Vitor Pinto. He begins by alleging that Olympiacos is spending €600,000 on the loan arrangement and will have the opportunity to buy the player for €18 million.
According to reports, the amount is simply too expensive for the Greek team, which is unfamiliar with such large operations, and that is where Nottingham Forest comes in.
Pinto explains that because Evangelos Marinakis owns both Olympiakos and the Tricky Trees, they’ll be watching how Carmo performs at his new club.
If the defender impresses in Greece, the club might buy him for that price and loan him to Nottingham Forest the following season.
So, Reds fans should keep an eye on this issue in the next months.
