Steve Cooper was fired by Nottingham Forest in December, and he may soon return to management.
When Cooper was handed his papers, Forest supporters were heartbroken.
The 44-year-old had supervised a run of one win in 14 games, and it was the third time he’d had such a bad period since joining the Premier League.
Cooper, on the other hand, will never be forgotten by supporters for leading the Reds to promotion in 2021/22.
The head coach’s accomplishment at Forest has been immeasurable in the modern period, and the club will be forever grateful for the promotion campaign.
Now, after a brief absence from the game, it appears like he will be back in the dugout very soon.
Premier League team extends negotiations with Steve Cooper.
According to The Telegraph, Leicester City has made progress in negotiations with Cooper regarding their managerial job.
Enzo Maresca led Leicester to the Championship victory last season, but has since left to join Chelsea.
As a result, the Foxes are conducting a thorough recruitment procedure, with Cooper hoping to be selected.
Interestingly, several reports have contradicted those that have emerged this morning.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Graham Potter was the guy Leicester had chosen, and conversations were underway.
Cooper, on the other hand, appears to be on his way to another East Midlands post with the Premier League club that is geographically closest to Forest.
Cooper’s legacy is intact at Forest.
This does feel a little unusual from a Leicester standpoint, to be honest.
Cooper is definitely an excellent coach and manager, although his Premier League record with Forest was mediocre.
Many would refer to the fact that he kept Forest in the Premier League, but the football was generally uninspiring.
Cooper, however, is a coach with a good track record in the Championship and in developing young players.
With the roster at the King Power Stadium being somewhat inexperienced, the club may be looking to bring in more young players.
Forest and Leicester aren’t considered major rivals – unless you’re a Leicester supporter – and Reds fans are unlikely to hold this against Cooper.
It will be fascinating to see how Cooper’s career unfolds, and he will be trying to demonstrate that he possesses the necessary skills for Premier League managerial success.
