Man Utd expected to bid for Argentine wonderkid in the next few days – he’s an upgrade on Casemiro

It appears that Manchester United will replace Casemiro in 2025 by recruiting a central midfield player.

The Brazilian used to set the standard for European midfielders. But after an outstanding debut season at Old Trafford, the £60 million No. 18 became Ineos’s model for what not to do in the transfer market.

While Casemiro was thirty years old at the time, United foolishly spent the £70 million fee, which includes add-ons, and gave him a five-year deal for £350,000 per week.

United had a terrible defensive record the previous season as a result of Casemiro’s inability to keep up with the game’s tempo, which left the midfield exposed.

Although Casemiro has had his moments for United this season, it is generally agreed that he has to be replaced. This was made very evident by Casemiro’s performance against Newcastle, and Ineos is now planning to bid for a potential successor.

Christian Ordonez is expected to be bid on by Manchester United.

Given the desire to replace Casemiro at Old Trafford, it is sense to assume that the deal will follow Ineos’s practice of signing young players at a discount.

The local press has provided an update on United’s interest in signing Christian Ordonez from Velez Sarsfield in Argentina, which was first reported by United in Focus last month.

The Argentine Primera Division team is now anticipating a bid from United within the next few days, according to a report by Velez670 Radio.

River Plate is also interested in the Argentine talent, thus Velez Sarsfield anticipates Brentford will show interest in following up.

Given the competition from these teams, it becomes sense to assume that United will be the front-runner, particularly if he is given significant playing time in the case that Casemiro leaves as Saudi circles.

Ordonez is Ruben Amorim’s immediate upgrade

We can’t expect Ordonez to be the final product at age 20, but even if he isn’t flawless, he will be a noticeable improvement over Casemiro.

Even though he does not yet have as good stats, Casemiro might certainly be improved upon in terms of his movement and toughness with a midfielder who can put in the heavy running that Amorim wants.

    Christian Ordonez vs Casemiro

    Stat per 90 Ordonez Casemiro
    Pass completion % 77.6% 81.5%
    Progressive passes 3.72 4.26
    Progressive carries 1.43 0.29
    Successful take-ons 1.03 0.47
    Tackles 2.38 4.01
    Interceptions 0.76 0.94
    Blocks 1.93 3.14
    Clearances 1.34 3.25
    Aerials won 1.21 1.77

Casemiro would obviously not have as many defensive figures because he has been playing for a poor United team, whereas Ordonez won the league with Velez.

In the long run, Ordonez appears to be a much more effective defensive midfielder, but he would make a good backup for either Kobbie Mainoo or Manuel Ugarte.
