‘Love it’: Tony Cascarino thrilled that Liverpool may sign a ‘durable’ player with ‘directness’

Arne Slot is now officially in the building at Liverpool.

The Jurgen Klopp era is finished, and a new chapter begins at Anfield, with fans eager to see what their next manager will bring.

All eyes will be on the 2024 summer transfer window, which opens next month, with Michael Edwards seeking to replicate his previous success.

Many Liverpool fans are aware of how the club’s transfer guru operates; he does not go out and buy huge, proven stars.

Typically, under-the-radar additions are made, such as Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson, and Gini Wijnaldum, to mention a few, who are currently among Klopp’s best acquisitions.

Klopp transformed those players into world-class stars, and now it’s Slot’s job to demonstrate his ability to achieve the same.

As a result, it comes as no surprise that Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo has been linked with a move, which has piqued Tony Cascarino’s interest.

According to HITC sources, Liverpool and other Premier League teams have been informed of the Cameroon international’s availability.

The veteran striker told talkSPORT that he ‘loves it’ and supports Mbeumo’s move to Anfield this summer.

Cascarino emphasized Mbeumo’s ‘durability’, quickness in his game, and the ability to employ the French-born star in ‘various ways’.

    Bryan Mbeumo moves to Liverpool?

“Yes, absolutely, love it,” Cascarino replied. “I mentioned him throughout the season.

“If you are going to lose Bryan Mbeumo.” What is he doing now? 24 or 25? I enjoy his pace. I admire his directness. I enjoy his goal contributions. He’s got plenty of time to develop. He was a comparable age to Salah when he joined Liverpool.

“I love him. He is also durable. I know he was injured this year, but he has often been dependable, and you can use him in a variety of ways. “A good finisher.”

The 24-year-old still has his finest years ahead of him, so it would not be surprising if Liverpool made a move for him and Slot included him in his squad.

Mbeumo missed several months of this season due to injury, hence he was only able to play 25 Premier League matches.

Despite this, he managed to score nine goals and make six assists. After scoring the same amount as the previous season and contributing eight assists.

It’s also worth noting that he plays throughout the front three and isn’t usually the key man due to Ivan Toney.
