Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen thinks pushing Inverness Caledonian Thistle into the play-offs is what drew him to join on loan from Leeds United.
On Saturday, the 19-year-old defender made his Inverness debut, losing 1-0 to Queen’s Park.
After the defeat, Inverness is eight points behind Greenock Morton in fourth position in the final play-offs.
Chilokoa-Mullen believes Inverness can still contend for a top-four finish at the end of the regular season.
When asked why he moved on loan to Inverness, he responded, “I spoke with the manager and liked what he said about the style of play here.”
“He informed me the club is seeking to challenge for the promotion play-offs, which appealed to me.
“We were disappointed to not get any points on Saturday, but the league is very tight, so we just need a run of results and we can climb up the table.”
“I’m enjoying it, and the guys have made me feel welcome.
“We had a terrific win last week against Raith Rovers, but I thought we were unlucky not to get anything from Saturday’s encounter.
“Hopefully we can bounce back on Saturday.”
Chilokoa-Mullen has represented Scotland at the under-21 level, scoring against Belgium in November.
He expects that the opportunity to play first-team football will help him improve his game.
“I am doing okay. I simply need to keep my head down and strive to improve every day.
“I hope to learn from the more experienced athletes around me.
“I needed to play first-team football, and I’ve been given the opportunity here. I need to get some games under my belt to try to improve.
“Players like Danny Devine and Mark Ridgers are always talking to me on the park, which is good.”
