Mark McAdams has ‘assured’ that Liverpool will make several acquisitions during the current transfer window.
As things stand, Liverpool are the only Premier League club that has not signed a new player this summer.
“There’s no question Michael Edwards will be looking at players to potentially come in, the same with Richard Hughes, who’s been operating as a sporting director for over 10 years largely in the Premier League,” the reporter claimed on Sky Sports.
McAdams went on to say, “They will be working together; they have a long-standing 20-year relationship, and they will look to attack the market at some point.”
“I guarantee that Liverpool will sign players this summer. Don’t worry, Liverpool fans; just let things happen naturally. Arne Slot will be a crucial decision-maker for any new face at Anfield.”
However, the Reds are nearing the completion of the Premier League’s five-step probe into Rio Ngumoha’s signing.
Curtis Jones, meanwhile, was seen returning to squad training after suffering an injury during a 1-0 victory over Real Betis.
Who will Liverpool sign this summer?
By this point, everyone will be very familiar with the Reds’ needs. A fresh centre-half, number six, and winger would be fantastic acquisitions. If Kostas Tsimikas leaves the club this summer, the team could look for a new left-back.
The good thing about the hunt for a holding midfielder is that it appears that what we’re looking for on the market has shifted significantly.
According to The Athletic, Slot’s ideal midfielder should be able to receive the ball under pressure, recycle it with easy passes, and maintain possession in key areas of the pitch.
Given the scarcity of elite-level No.6s, Liverpool may be forced to rely on internal possibilities. Curtis Jones or Ryan Gravenberch, anyone?
