Liverpool are thrilled with Owen Beck’s improvement while on loan at Blackburn Rovers, Rousing The Kop can exclusively reveal.
Beck has become a key player for Blackburn manager John Eustace since joining from Liverpool in the summer.
Having gotten into the starting XI, the 22-year-old has made 21 appearances, establishing himself as Rovers’ starting left-back.
Liverpool are said to have been impressed by Beck’s performances this season after closely monitoring him.
RTK understands that Liverpool is reviewing their left-back alternatives and is keeping an open mind on Beck’s return to the first-team.
Liverpool is happy with Owen Beck’s growth.
Beck enjoyed a fantastic season on loan with Dundee in 2023/24, and he was selected men’s player of the year.
The Liverpool academy graduate made his Premier League debut after being briefly recalled by Jurgen Klopp in January.
With Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas staying put over the summer, Liverpool decided to send Beck out again, with a loan to Blackburn, following in the footsteps of Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton, deemed a strong fit.
Given Robertson’s troubles this season, RTK understands that Liverpool are looking for a new starting left-back.
Tsimikas’ long-term career is also said to be in risk, with Liverpool reportedly set to sign two new left-backs in the next 18 months.
Following Beck’s impressive performances this season, RTK has been informed that Liverpool is actively monitoring his progress with a view to the future.
El Hadji Malick Diouf is on Liverpool’s radar
Eustace described Beck as ‘amazing’ after he scored his first senior English football goal in December.
However, the teenager is not the only left-back Liverpool is considering for the first team next season.
RTK can disclose that the Reds are one of the teams keeping a close eye on Slavia Prague defender El Hadji Malick Diouf.
There has been no decision on whether Diouf is a specific target, but it is believed that Liverpool is aware of the 20-year-old and is monitoring his progress.
