Liverpool has been linked with a number of talented center backs, including Marc Guehi.
The Merseyside club sought to sign the England international during the past summer transfer window, but they did not sign a defender and instead strengthened their midfield.
In January, the Reds put the Crystal Palace star at the top of their wishlist to replace Cameroonian international Joel Matip.
Now that Matip is due to leave the club at the end of the month, Liverpool is once again interested in signing Guehi.
However, speculations in the British media suggest that the Anfield club will have to agree to a massive cost of £65 million to eventually get the Eagles player.
According to The Daily Mail, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham are keenly monitoring Guehi’s position.
It is said that, given Jarrad Branthwaite’s high valuation, Palace have placed a £65 million price tag on their prized asset, despite the fact that he is playing for England at the European Championships, unlike the Everton star.
Similarly, The Telegraph claims Liverpool are interested in signing the Ivorian-born defender, whose current contract at Selhurst Park expires in 2026.
According to the source, Palace wants him to sign an extension and will not consider any offers below £65 million this summer.
Guehi had an injury-plagued campaign last season and was sidelined for a few months due to a knee issue. However, when fit, he proved to be a reliable defender for the London club.
He joined John Stones in center defense in England’s opening Euros group game against Serbia, helping them keep a clean sheet (1-0).
Have your say: Should Liverpool agree to a cost of £65 million to finally secure Guehi?
